Franklin County is getting ready to welcome its next group of young players back onto the field, with registration now open for the 2026 Franklin County Youth Football Camp at Franklin County High School.

The three day camp is scheduled for Monday, May 18 through Wednesday, May 20, with sessions running each evening from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The camp is open to students in kindergarten through seventh grade for the 2025 to 2026 school year, giving younger players across the area a chance to spend three evenings learning the game in a football setting built around skill work and development.

Franklin County has set the camp fee at $65, with checks made payable to FCHS Football.

Families who want to make sure their child receives a camp shirt will need to register by May 11, which is the deadline to guarantee a T-shirt as part of the sign-up process.

The camp gives local players a chance to get instruction ahead of the next school year while also spending time around the Franklin County football program.

For younger athletes, events like this often serve as one of the first real steps into organized football beyond casual play, and they can also help build early connections to the high school program.

Registration requires the usual camp details, including the camperโ€™s name, grade level for the 2025 to 2026 school year, T-shirt size, guardian contact information, emergency contact information, and any important medical information or restrictions.

Families are also asked to agree to the camp release form as part of registration.

The release notes that parents or guardians are responsible for their childโ€™s insurance in case of injury and that, while safety precautions will be observed, the Franklin County School System, camp staff, Franklin County football coaches and players, and Franklin County High School will not be responsible for lost personal property or injuries sustained during camp activities.

It also includes consent for the use of photos or video taken during the program.

That registration structure keeps the process straightforward while giving families a clear picture of what is needed before camp opens.

It also helps make the event easier to manage for parents who are planning around late spring schedules and looking for local sports opportunities once the school year begins to wind down.

For Franklin County, the camp is also another way to keep younger athletes connected to football in the community.

A three day evening format makes it easier for families to work around daytime commitments, while the K through 7 range opens the door for a broad age group of future players.

The setting adds to that appeal. Holding the camp at Franklin County High School gives participants a chance to be on the field where the local high school program plays, which can make the experience feel bigger for younger kids just getting started in the sport.

With May approaching, families interested in signing up will want to move before the May 11 T-shirt deadline.

The camp itself begins one week later and will run across three evenings focused on football instruction, participation, and local program connection.

For parents looking for a late spring sports option and for young players eager to get back on the field, Franklin Countyโ€™s youth football camp now has its dates in place and registration open.
