Robinson arrives from Wayne State, where he was listed in 2026 as defensive backs coach, defensive coordinator, and recruiting coordinator.
His recent work there gave him responsibility across the defense and on the recruiting side, while his coaching path also included time as interim head coach at Wayne State from November 2022 through January 2023.
The Southfield connection gives the hire extra weight. Wayne State’s coaching profile identifies Robinson as a Southfield native and a former assistant athletic director at Southfield A and T High School during the 2017 to 2018 school year.
Before that, he built his own playing résumé at Wayne State as a four year letterwinner and earlier starred for Southfield High, where he earned major all area honors after a senior season that included 92 tackles and seven interceptions.
