Bullitt Football Academy opened its 2026 season earlier this year with its first Organized Team Activity at Bullitt Field in Rowlett, giving athletes and families an early look at the program’s standards, structure, and development plan for the year.

The opening OTA was held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 8900 Princeton Road in Rowlett, Texas.

The session brought together several parts of the academy, including 7v7 practice, linemen development, girls football, and a parent road map discussion built around the full 2026 season plan.

The event marked the first major team gathering of the year and gave Bullitt Football Academy a clear starting point before the schedule became more demanding.

It was not built as a casual offseason workout. The session was framed around preparation, discipline, competition, and getting families aligned with the direction of the program.

Players were expected to arrive ready to work, with a black T-shirt, black shorts, cleats, and a water bottle.

Non-athletic footwear and casual items such as slides and Crocs were not allowed, a small detail that fit the larger message of the day: the academy wanted athletes to treat the first session like the start of a serious season.

The OTA included 7v7 practice for 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 15U, and varsity groups. It also featured Battle of the Bigs, giving linemen from age 7 through the Class of 2031 their own competitive development space. The girls side of the program was also included through Girls 5v5 for the 14U division.

Bullitt Football Academy used January OTA to set program standards

The January 4 session gave Bullitt Football Academy a way to bring every part of the program into the same message early.

Younger athletes had a place to begin developing, older players started sharpening for stronger competition, linemen received focused work, and girls football remained part of the academy’s structure.

That matters for a program trying to build consistency across several age groups. A strong youth football academy depends on more than one good team.

It needs the same habits, expectations, and teaching points moving through each level so players understand what is expected as they grow.

The OTA also gave coaches a chance to see where athletes stood at the start of the year. Early sessions like this help identify who is prepared, who needs development, and how each group should be shaped moving forward.

For families, it also created a clearer picture of what the program would demand throughout the 2026 season.

The final 20 minutes were set aside for a 2026 Program Road Map discussion with parents. That portion covered expectations, standards, competition plans, travel outlook, development structure, and seasonal goals.

It also gave parents a chance to ask questions directly, which helped make the first session about more than drills on the field.

Terrance Bullitt, president of Bullitt Football Academy, framed the opening OTA as the official start of the 2026 season and a chance for athletes, families, and coaches to begin raising the standard togethe

May open tryout gives Bullitt another key 2026 checkpoint

Bullitt Football Academy’s next major public session now shifts attention toward Open Tryout No. 2, scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Bullitt Field.

The tryout is listed for 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and is being promoted as an “Under The Lights” session at the same Rowlett field.

That gives the January OTA a better place inside the wider story. It was the season-opening foundation, while the May tryout gives new and returning athletes another chance to compete for a place in the program as the year moves forward.

Bullitt Football Academy has also continued posting practice and development activity through the early part of 2026, including additional OTA sessions, practice updates, and football-specific training at Bullitt Field.

The academy’s official schedule also lists summer speed, power, explosive training and tackle summer training options, showing that the 2026 plan extends beyond one early-season gathering.

For players, the message stays simple. Show up prepared, compete, and keep building. For families, the academy’s road map gives a clearer look at how the year is being organized across age groups, travel, competition, and development.

Bullitt Football Academy’s 2026 season did not begin with a single team meeting or one narrow practice group.

It opened with 7v7 players, linemen, girls football, and parents all connected to the same plan. Now, with another open tryout set for May 9, the program has a new checkpoint as it continues building through the year.
