Angleton High School celebrated a college signing moment this week as Davian Barrera and Jacob Morales made their next steps in baseball official.

The two seniors signed in front of family, friends, coaches, and teammates, giving the Wildcats another strong finish to the school year as graduation gets closer.

Barrera signed with Mississippi College, while Morales signed with Wiley University.

Both players will continue in baseball at the college level, turning years of work in the Wildcats program into a new opportunity after high school.

Two Angleton seniors make their college plans official

Moments like this always carry weight inside a program because they put real results beside all the work that came before them.

For Angleton, this one was simple and easy to understand. Two seniors from the same baseball program reached the point where their college futures were ready to be announced, and both did it with the people closest to them in the room.

Barreraโ€™s move to Mississippi College gives Angleton one more player heading into college baseball with a chance to keep growing at the next level.

Morales now heads to Wiley University with the same kind of opportunity in front of him. The signings placed both names at the center of one of the schoolโ€™s strongest senior milestones this spring.

Baseball stays in focus for the Wildcats

What stands out here is that both signees came from the same sport. This was not a mixed ceremony spread across several teams.

It was a baseball story through and through, with Barrera and Morales representing the Wildcats program together as they moved on to college rosters.

That gives the signing a little more force. When two players from the same team reach this point in the same stretch, it reflects well on the program they came out of and gives younger players a clear example of where the path can lead.

For Angleton, the ceremony put two senior baseball names in the spotlight and gave the community a reason to celebrate before the season fully closes out.

This final sentence is an inference based on the joint signing announcements and the baseball-specific celebration around both players.

Barrera and Morales now leave Angleton with their college destinations set and their next seasons already taking shape.

For the Wildcats, it was a good day to see two baseball careers continue past high school and into the next level.
